Lexus Introduced The Hybrid Bicycle To The UK
Lexus has announced plans to bring the Hybrid Bicycle concept to the Great British Bike Ride for their sponsored team. Having first shown up at the 2009 Tokyo International Motor Show, Lexus this time will bring one out of two examples of the Hybrid Powered Bicycle to the UK. More after the jump.
The LH-B body that is developed by Lexus Engineers were made of fully carbon fiber to reduce as much weight as they can. The 17kg bicycle has an eight-speed Shimano internal-gear and electric gearbox. It generates 240 Watt of motor powers at the front wheel while pedals at the rear. Which it comes in the form of a belt-run mechanism. The Hybrid motor has two-setting options of Economical and Power. The power is actually comes from the 25.9 volt Lithium Ion battery (4.0Ah) and even has a regenerative braking system. We have been told that, Lexus are not going to produce this Future Hybrid Bicycle for commercial use. Everything is still under their research & development.
