Tuner Gemballa Might Have To-Shut-Down, Founder Still-Missing
Gemballa Tuning, a tuning firm that provides after-market parts for mainly Porsche and Ferrari vehicles, might have to close it's famous tuning company following the disappearance of their founder, Uwe Gemballa. Uwe was reported missing back in February when he was travelling to Johannesburg, South Africa on a business trip. Hit the JUMP to read more!!After being more than 30 years in the industry, Gemballa Tuning might have to shuttered as report claims that their earnings went down from 16.2mil Euro in 2007 to 8mil Euro in 2009. With that in mind, Uwe Gemballa was reportedly seeking for investors from Dubai and South Africa. German police are apparently cooperating with both Interpol and South African police in the investigation.
On the evening of February 9, Uwe reportedly called his son and told him he had an accident and was in need of one million dollars. That was the last time Uwe’s son heard from him.
Speculation has it that - Uwe planned his own disappearance or that he is the subject of a ransom plot.
Several rumors are swirling surrounding Uwe's disappearance. It's been claimed that Uwe himself phoned a business associate with a $1.36 million ransom demand and that the whole disappearance could be the result of alleged legal and financial troubles. Gemballa denies the former, saying that no one - not an individual, business or police force - has heard from Uwe since he went missing in Johannesburg and also says there's no truth to the suggestions of financial or legal trouble. We all hope that Uwe will return back home safe and all the best for him.
