 Lexus is an unknown brand in the super sports car categories, in fact there is no such model to be known about. But by introducing their latest model Lexus LFA, they are hoping to be one of the marquees in that category. The Toyota Lexus LFA has an all new 4.8L V10 engine that engineered to the size of a V8 and with the weight of V6. It goes from 0 to 62 mph (100km/h) in just 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 202 mph (325 km/h).
To make things more interesting, they even created the engine to mimicking the sounds of a Formula-1 car. But, how much will someone spend to get their hands on the Lexus LFA? $100,000? Not even close… $200,000? Nahhh… $300,000? Nope... But an astounding $375,000. Hold on your tongue for a sec my dear car enthusiast, don’t spray you harsh words yet. Before we criticize about the price of an LFA, let us see why the Toyota Lexus LFA is super duper expensive.

 A part from the glorious engine and the beautiful sound of an F-1, the FLA’s body is made from Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP), the same material used in aerospace industry. This makes a super rigid body while constructing a fabulous power-to-weight ratio. In total, 65% of the LFA are made from CFRP and the balance is aluminum alloy braces. On top of that, the rarity of the LFA contributes to the price as well. If you get your hand on one of the LFA, you are among 499 other people on the entire universe that does so. Only 500 units will ever be produced, 100 more than Ferrari Enzo.

 

 Although Lexus smacks a $375,000 on the 2011 Lexus LFA, they won’t make any profit from the sales. They will use that money to cover the cost of the LFA’s project development that consumes 9 years of their expenses. It is one of core reasons why the price is so high up in the air.
