Team BMW Wins The 2010 Nürburgring 24-hours Race.

Team BMW Motorsports took the victory at the 2010 24 hours race at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, after five years since the manufacturer's last victory. The number 25 BMW M3 GT2 car claimed BMW’s 19th victory at the endurance classic which was drove by Jörg Müller, Augusto Farfus, Uwe Alzen and Pedro Lamy, the car crossed the finishing line first after 154 laps of the 25.378km race-track. Green Light Production For The Ultimate M3 GTS 

"The BMW M3 is an icon and internationally synonymous with the highest level of dynamics," Dr. Kay Segler, CEO of the BMW M GmbH.

BMW has announced that they will produced the limited edition BMW M3 GTS which based on the E92 M3. High revving V8 engine technology at its best with larger displacement, high performance and higher torque - The M3 GTS is officially a road legal race car produced at the BMW GmbH manufacturing facility in Munich. The engine has been stroked to a 4.4-liter and produced 450hp (8,300rpm) - 30hp more than the standard M3 - 331kW and 440Nm of torque - available at an engine speed of 3,750 rpm. The weight of the car has been reduced 419lbs less than the standard M3 and runs from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.4seconds with a top speed of 305km/h. Power-to-weight ratio has been lowered to 3.4kg per hp. The transmission has been fully tuned using the 7-Speed M Dual Clutch Drive-logic gearbox developed specially for motorsport and permits the gearshift without interruption of traction for extreme use. Remember the Loaded BMW M3 CSL Supercharged that records and shaved more than five-seconds off the record time set by the illustrious Pagani Zonda F to set a shattering lap record of 7:22.8 around the Nurburgring with driver Richard Göransson behind the wheel back in 2007/08? Well we brings back the video here on how he drove around the Green Hell. The M3 CSL was eventually placed for "lowest bid wins" and it is for the charity which is open to everyone as long as they are 18 and above.  Well I'm not sure who won the bid and drove back home with this Monster, but for-sure, he or she must be the luckiest person on earth.  Ferrari Blast Nürburgring For New-Record

The Ferrari 599XX has blasted around the Nurburgring’s Norschleife circuit in record time, clocking a lap of just 6min 58sec - the first time a production-derived sports car has broken the 7-minute barrier.
The 772bhp V12 Ferrari, which costs around £1.2million, was piloted into the record books by Raffaele de Simone, one of Ferrari’s factory test drivers.

VW To Take On The 24-Hours Nürburgring With Scirocco CNG-Powered

 " The Scirocco GT24 already proved it's strength as a dynamic sports coupe by clinching class victory in it's debut race last year.  We want to prove that VW offers different powertrain concepts, which all excel in terms of dynamics, high efficiency and reliability." Following the historic one-two victory, as the first manufacturer's team using diesel technology in the event, at the 2010 Dakar Rally in January, Volkswagen are now taking on a new technical challenge.  They will again introducing a green eco-friendly race car for the 24-Hours Nürburgring race that will be held on the 23rd and 24th of May. Two Scirocco cars powered by innovative natural gas engine the CNG (compressed natural gas) will compete at the 'Green Hell'  which only produced 20%  of CO2 emissions from a normal car.

Peugeot To Run At 24hours of Nürburgring

Pair Of Diesel RCZ Coupes At 24 Hrs Of Nürburgring

 

For the first time, the French automaker, Peugeot will compete in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring with it's new model the RCZ Coupes. We have been told that Peugeot will be using a pair of the Peugeot RCZ diesel-powered racing car which is nearly stock with a 2-liter HDi FAP RCZ engine that produced around 200hp.

Battery Powered Mini E Race-Spec Laps Nürburgring

BMW engineering-team, team up with ex-DTM driver to conquer  Nürburgring Nordschleife under the foggy weather with BMW's latest special edition battery-powered MINI E model. They applied some weight reduction measures to the body, new tires, bigger brakes and caliper and a roll-cage. The electric powertrain underwent some recalibration for the aggressive track-use. Thomas Jäger ex-DTM race driver took the Nürburgring with the BMW MINI E, under the foggy weather and managed to set a reasonably respectable lap time around the 13 mile-long Nürburgring Nordschleife of just 9 minutes and 51.45 seconds with a maximum speed of 116.2 miles/hour. Nürburgring Nordschleife is well-known as one of the most treacherous race tracks in the world, even on the best of days. Watch the video-below.
