Battery Powered Mini E Race-Spec Laps Nürburgring

BMW engineering-team, team up with ex-DTM driver to conquer  Nürburgring Nordschleife under the foggy weather with BMW's latest special edition battery-powered MINI E model. They applied some weight reduction measures to the body, new tires, bigger brakes and caliper and a roll-cage. The electric powertrain underwent some recalibration for the aggressive track-use. Thomas Jäger ex-DTM race driver took the Nürburgring with the BMW MINI E, under the foggy weather and managed to set a reasonably respectable lap time around the 13 mile-long Nürburgring Nordschleife of just 9 minutes and 51.45 seconds with a maximum speed of 116.2 miles/hour. Nürburgring Nordschleife is well-known as one of the most treacherous race tracks in the world, even on the best of days. Watch the video-below.

Ferrari had release their first photo and information on the new Ferrari 599 GTO which was extremely developed V12 Berlinetta to a specific performance oriented brief. The 599 GTO is the fastest Ferrari road-legal car which is based on the 599XX - the advance experimental track car and can be considered almost a road going version. It's going to be an exclusive and limited edition car which only 599 unit is going to be build for special customer. The 599 GTO breaks the record laptime of 1'24'' at Fiorano track-circuit which was slightly faster than the well-known Ferrari Enzo.

World First Apple IPad Installed As A Car Audio

SoundMan Car Audio in Santa Clarita, California were among the first to received an iPad from Apple to be install in a car. Toyota Tacoma pickup truck has been choosen by Doug Bernards, and they decided to combine the iPad with the McIntosh Amp System together with Audison Bit One processor, McIntosh six-channel amplifier, an Onkyo ND-S1 and a special iPod dock which allows the digital signal to be pulled from the iPad and distributed to the BitOne via optical output.

Ecclestone Keen On Bringing F1 To New York

Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone are keen on bringing back the Formula 1 to the United States and revealed that negotiations are underway to bring a grand prix to the New York area. Rather than running through the streets of Manhattan as had previously been rumored, Ecclestone's plan calls for the race to take place on the opposite side of the Hudson River in New Jersey. The plan, according to Ecclestone, could come to fruition as soon as 2012.
